Olá, Lisboa!

Our first real family vacation with the four of us! Destination - Portugal. I can't believe we are finally here! It started out promising. Henry was pretty excited about the airport and boarding the plane. While David and I were sleep deprived and our patience wearing thin.

Henry was seriously all smiles until about five hours in and then it was slowly downhill from there for both boys, but still they weren't too bad. Honestly, they did pretty damn good considering how long the whole experience was. It could have been so much worse (like the other babies and kids on the plane... sooo much screaming and crying on our second flight from those other little ones). We were SO grateful that my in-laws waited for our arrival and gave us a ride to our air bnb, because I don't think the kids could have handled anything else.

Several windy narrow roads later we made it! The air bnb is so sweet and reminds me of home a little bit. Henry even gets his own room with an adorable twin size bed. As I'm writing this, I'm realizing tonight is our last night here in Lisboa! I'm pretty heartbroken about it.

After we got settled we ventured out for some pasteis de nata at Manteigaria. It was SO GOOD. Dare I say even better than pasteis de Balem??? Yes.

Even after showering and eating pasteis, we were all just about our worst selves. ha! It was nonstop crank city for all four of us. I don't think I've ever seen David so cranky and Henry throw THAT many meltdowns... well maybe I have with Henry. We called it a day at about four thirty and immediately all crashed. You could never tell with the next photo that we were all slowly dying inside from exhaustion! 

Looking forward to sharing more and to soak up as much of Lisboa as we can tomorrow before we leave for Leiria.
